The primary goal of the position is to overseeing the Gas Drainage programme for a specific project.
This will include the – In seam drilling, In seam and Cross measure drilling, Preparation of surface infrastructure and the Commissioning of Gas drainage wells and systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring all activities are conducted in a safe manner and production targets are met.
To be successful in this role and reap the fabulous rewards on offer you will require the following skills, experience and qualifications:

Mining Engineering qualifications &/or relevant industry background

Computer literate in project, Excel, Word, and SAP
-
Exposure to underground mining
-
Familiarity with Gas Drainage principles and equipment
-
Providing Gas and drainage advice, fit for purpose and cost effective gas control strategies, sufficient to support the mine plan and schedules
-
Determine effective, In seam gas drainage strategy including hole plans, stub locations and layouts
-
Determine effective SIS gas drainage strategies, including taking advice and recommendations from Vale Technical Support and External Consultants

Manage gas drainage
-
Effective communication of known gas drainage risks/hazards to the business to all stakeholders

Ensure statutory compliance with all regards to gas drainage
-
Investigate non compliance
-
Actively assist in the annual development of budgets
-
Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with all employees
-
Ensuring that all personnel receive appropriate and effective induction and training
-
Develop clear and best practice long term Gas drainage strategy
