MINING GEOLOGIST
We are currently seeking applications from suitable qualified Geologists to join our client’s underground coal operation located approx 1.5 hours west of Mackay in the Bowen Basin.
Our client is the largest producer of export thermal coal and a significant producer of coking coal. Across all global operations there is a total commitment to maintaining safe and healthy workplaces. With an unwavering focus on meeting environmental commitments our client also invests in its staff with the allocation of significant resources to training and development.
You will also benefit from the mentoring you will receive from your direct report – the Technical Services Superintendent and work closely with Production Teams to manage geotechnical hazards as well as coal quality.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary Qualified Geologist
- 1 – 5 years’ experience in a coal mining environment
- Familiar with Underground Coal mining operations, policy and procedures
- Previous experience using AcQuire and Volcan Software would be advantageous
- Must possess strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- The ability to work independently in a team environment
- Focus on HSEC policies and procedures
Whilst underground coal experience is preferred, we are still open to receiving applications from Exploration, Open Cut and Hard Rock Geologists.
